The Fat Kid was on stage pressing home un-Constitutional COVID mask mandates in Illinois. The message he sent was based on nothing but emotion, feelings, public-polling stats, and the views of one-sided 'experts' to manipulate the populace into wearing masks - as if any of those were exceptions to your Constitutional Rights. The Fat Kid made the mandate appear as dire as a gun pointed at your head - or worse yet, that you were pointing the gun at your neighbors head if you weren't wearing a mask.
To achieve their goal, Illinois Democrats stole the "Anti-Gun Playbook"
from their gun-control counterparts, and adjusted it for their own COVID
agenda. The “Anti-Gun Playbook” is an actual playbook developed by OMP, KNP Communications, and Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner Research for the Democratic Left to convey the anti-gun message with very specific messaging based on emotions – not facts.
Below is taken straight from the “playbook.” See if this isn't what you witnessed at the Fat Kids COVID press conference today (8/9/2020) Bracketed [COVID] has replaced the words “gun-violence” and [DEATH] has replaced "violence."
#1: Always focus on emotional and value-driven arguments about
[COVID], not
the political food fight in Washington or wonky statistics.
(yeah... lets not talk about facts at all)
"It’s critical that you ground your messaging around [COVID] prevention by
making that emotional connection. Don’t skip past emotional arguments and lapse
into a passionless public policy voice. And don’t make the [COVID] debate seem
as if it is a political “food fight” between two interest groups."
#2: Tell stories with images and feelings.
"Our first task is to draw a vivid portrait and make an emotional
connection. We should rely on emotionally powerful language, feelings, and
images to bring home the terrible impact of [COVID]. Compelling facts should be
used to back up that emotional narrative, not as a substitute for it."
#3: Claim moral authority and the mantle of freedom.
"We should emphasize that one fundamental freedom every American
should have is the freedom to be safe in our homes and neighborhoods – freedom
to live our lives without the constant threat of [COVID] hanging over our
heads."
Other helping hints to persuade people to their side are these
little notes...
"DO talk about preventing [COVID]."
"DON'T talk about controlling the populace."
"DO advocate for stronger [MASK] laws."
"DON'T use the term "stricter" [MASK] laws."
Next - The Toll Taken by [COVID]
#1: Always start with the pain and anguish [COVID] bring into
peoples lives.
"The death, injury, and heartache caused by [COVID] are
devastating – and that’s what makes people care about it and want to do something to end it.
The threat and reality of [COVID] disrupt and send fear rippling through whole
communities."
"It is a stark daily reality in the lives of millions of
Americans. Perhaps most unsettling of all is the fact that these levels of
[DEATH], fear, and turmoil are so unnecessary. We know what can be done to
lessen and prevent [COVID], but it takes political will and organized public
pressure to get it done."
#2: Use statistics to reinforce an emotional argument, not
replace it.
"Statistics, properly used, can be a powerful way to make people understand
the human reach and impact of [COVID] in America. But they should always be
used to undergird an emotionally persuasive case. Never let a dry recitation of
the facts disguise the fact that you are deeply saddened and moved by the
terrible human toll that [COVID] claims."
#3: Use images that bring your message home.
"Even when you are only using words to make your case, use them
to draw a persuasive portrait of the way [COVID] disrupts people’s lives. And,
wherever possible, strengthen your message with compelling images."
#4: Tell stories with feeling and energy.
"It’s not enough to have a persuasive story at hand, you have to
tell that story in a way that comes across. That means being emotionally
present as you tell it – and conveying it not only as if it’s the first time
your listeners have heard it, but as if it’s the first time you’ve conveyed it."
Now tell me again how this isn't exactly what Pritzker and his minions were doing on stage today.
Baby Huey is due in court - in person - on Friday, August 14th (under penalty of contempt) to explain his willful refusal to obey the courts decision that any 'executive order' he put in place after April 9th is invalid and unconstitutional. This includes recent 'mask-wearing' rules put in place in late July.
Being forced to give up constitutional Rights by an out-of-control dictator such as Pritzker is untenable and his rogue acts are pushing angry, frustrated, and freedom-loving Illinoisans to the edge of the precipice, that when stepped off of, leads to rebellion.
Since July 15th Illinois' COVID outbreak has been below the Centers for Disease Controls (CDC) parameters to qualify as an Epidemic. According to the CDC, for COVID to be graded an 'epidemic,' COVID must be the cause of at least 7% of all 'daily deaths' in a State (Illinois is running at 6.6%), and yet the Fat Guy stands there with mock concern and a stern face while attempting to put the fear of God into his citizens to keep them cowed and submissive while he crashes Illinois' economy in hopes of accomplishing two specific goals...
- Stop Trump's re-election by heaping the blame for all of Illinois COVID ills on him, while at the same time negotiating a budget bailout (40 Billion dollars) by the Federal Government to keep Illinois afloat, while making no attempt to cut state spending.
What is happening right now, for everyone who is not blind, is exactly what the Founders warned against. A tyrannical, taxing, over-reaching government lead by ruthless, power-hungry elites who are desensitizing you to the deprivation of your Rights.
In Illinois, this could get very ugly, very fast. Let us hope saner minds prevail.
