COVID Rage - The Lies of the Truth!

But is this a true number?  Have we really had 38 million cases?  

According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), the Covid 19 Rapid PCR test's sensitivity is rated in "cycles."  Up until late last year, the test ran at 44 cycles - the greater the number, the more sensitive the test - when it should have been run at 35 or fewer cycles.  The Rapid PCR test which - according to the CDC - is the "Gold Standard," does not find an infection, it only finds the spike protein respective to the Covid 19 virus.  At 44 cycles, it can detect the spike protein, but the viral load is likely too small to cause an actual infection or to be passed on to someone else. An infection can only be considered "positive" if discovered at or below the 35 cycle threshold - the lower the number, the heavier the viral load and the more dangerous the infection.

From an article in The Tennessean - "A viral test, either the nose or throat swab, can detect if you are positive for COVID-19. It's not designed to tell you which variant you might be infected with, according to Human and Health Services of Texas... Rapid COVID-19 tests only detect whether or not you are infected with COVID-19, not the specific strain or variant... the only test for the Delta variant is genomic testing in a lab..."

The CDC has lowered the PCR to a threshold of 28 cycles for the expressed purpose of performing a genomic test to see if the offending spike protein is a variant.  From December 2020 thru April 2021, just 0.3% of PCR tests with a threshold below 28 cycles have been genomically tested - the results of which take weeks.  Yet the CDC and the bloviating Dr. Anthony Fauci claim that 80% of all new cases are the Delta variant while testing only 0.3% of 180 million cases below the 28 cycle threshold? 

So many questions remain - How many of the PCR Rapid tests had positive results above 35 cycles?  How many 28 cycles and below?  How many of those above 35 cycles were true infections? How many people who were supposedly re-infected with Covid 19 never actually had the first infection? How many supposed asymptomatic infections were really not infections at all?

How are we to decipher the truth from the onslaught of lies couched in facts?  

Just this week on that vanguard of honesty, CNN,  Dr. Sanjay Gupta told viewers that a "new study out of North Carolina" proved children wearing masks at school prevented them from becoming infected with Covid 19 - with a rate of infection of just 1.2% - while claiming more and more children were being quarantined.

So, is CNN and Dr. Gupta being truthful?  Well, I will say this... they are being factual, but truthful?  Not so much.

There was a study out of North Carolina - Duke University to be exact -  which in part says the study covered "...14 charter schools represented [sic] 2,396 elementary, middle, and high schools and administrative buildings and more than 864,515 students who attended in-school instruction and 160,549 staff who worked in school and administrative buildings. Including students who received online instruction, the districts represented a total of 1,281,202 students... involved in Plan A..."

This is the truth.

Wow... pretty impressive, no?  

No.  

Why? Because this "study" didn't include a control group.

Something to compare your numbers against.  For instance - When testing a new drug, half the group with the affliction is given the drug, the other half is given a placebo.  Conclusions reached on the efficacy of the drug are reached when the two groups are compared.  If 90% of the drug group recover while only 10% of the placebo group (control group) recover, then it can be hypothesized the drug was effective.   If both groups had 90% recovery or 10% recovery then the drug would be considered ineffective. 

See?

In this particular study, "Plan A" means all the schools, students, staff members, etc are following Plan A - a mask mandate.  They did not study schools where there weren't any mask mandates.  They have nothing to compare their numbers against.  There was no control group.  

This is the lie.

So what would the results look like if there was a control group?  Well, I'm glad you asked!  In Denmark, the largest study of it's kind employing 6000 participants and published in the "Annals of Internal Medicine," had half the group wear masks every time they left the house while the other half did not.  All participants spent, on average, more than three hours a day outside their homes.

After one month the results were in.  The group that wore masks had an infection rate of just 1.8%!  I'm sure you're thinking this supports the above study of 1.2% in the schools!  Case closed!  Masks work!

Um... no.  

The other half of the study, those who didn't wear masks, were infected at a rate of just 2.1%.  In the world of science, that is "statistically insignificant" - a tie.  There is no difference between wearing a mask and not wearing a mask - Masks don't work.

Dr. Gupta told you facts - There was a study out of North Carolina that showed just 1.2% of children in a mask-mandated school system were infected with Covid 19.  But he presents it without context and implies it is proof masks work, knowing full well the viewer will infer the same.

And that, to me, is Dr. Gupta purposely misleading CNN's viewers for the advancement of a political agenda.

And what about Dr. Gupta's claim more and more children are being quarantined?  This is also a factual statement.  Children are being quarantined at a higher rate these days.  But you must ask the question... 

Why?  

The answer lies with any parent who knows well enough that Left-leaning school boards are demanding any child sitting within 6 feet of another child who tests positive with Covid 19 must now be quarantined from school for a period of two weeks - whether they are infected or not.  So this is a self-fulfilling prophecy.  The Progressive Left school boards and Unions push the new rules, then use the results of those self-imposed rules to prove they needed the rules in the first place.

Yes, I know, it's sickening, disgusting, despicable... you can insert any invective adjective that suits you, and you would be correct.

Many ask - "Why would the government do this?  It doesn't make any sense!"  

I would answer, simply, control.  The more control they have of the citizenry, the more power they have for themselves.  They can make laws, spend money, and do any number of things if they control you through the instillation of fear and the promise of safety - a volatile combination - provided by the very government that is lying to you and making you fearful in the first place.

A case in point.  At a school in Florida's Manatee County, the Progressive Left half of the parents want a mask mandate that allows for an "opt-out" clause for those who do not want to wear a mask, the other, Freedom-loving half wants to make masks optional.  

Both sides allow the choice of wearing a mask. The Progressive faction wants the government (school board) to have control of you and yours to accomplish their goal - Fill out a form to opt-out (identifying you as an extremist) and put it on file. The Freedom faction wants to leave it in the hands of the parents with no involvement of the government.

In a battle where the outcome has no difference, the distinction is control.

Do you now understand why so many Americans have trouble believing the government and why the numbers are questioned?  Do you now comprehend why so many Americans are angry their government is forcibly taking away their civil liberties while making critical health and welfare decisions based on admittedly flawed science?  Do you now grasp the concept of protecting one's individual rights?
